Quinta da Serra is a farmhouse of about 1890 on the north slope of the Serra da Arrábida, with 4.6 hectares of stone pine, olives and a stone threshing floor. It was last lived in in 1996. The roof fell in during the winter of 2019.

The walls are limestone rubble, 70 cm thick, and all four are standing. We intend to keep them, rebuild the roof at its original pitch, and add one new wing to the east, lower than the house, for the bedrooms.

What happens next

Inês Vaz Arquitectos submitted the licence application to the municipality of Setúbal in June 2026. We expect a decision in the first half of 2027 and completion in 2028. Until the licence is granted the plans may change, and so may the number of bedrooms.
